CX4 Cables

10GBASE-CX4 was the first 10G copper standard put forth by the IEEE Std. 802. CX4 cables are widely used in applications connecting processing clusters to storage nodes.

10GBase Ethernet is the most recent and fastest of the Ethernet covering short distances, up to 50 feet, using twin axial cable. It gets its name because it is intended to run over CX4, or 4 pairs of twin axial copper wiring. It has a nominal data rate of 10Gbit/sec, 10 times as fast as gigabit Ethernet. It is also referred to as 802.3ak.

Cables Plus USA's CX4 cables are available in various lengths ranging from .5 to 15 meters. CX4 cables are assembled with premium Madison 8 pair, and 100 ohm. For the CX4 cable standard connector type is the ejector style latch used for Infiniband SFF-8470, but configurations with thumbscrews or side squeeze latches are also available.
