The LightWave OM1 12-Fiber MTP/MPO to LC Fiber Optic Fanout Cable is designed to help you overcome two key obstacles to successful data center operation: ever-growing bandwidth demands, and rapidly shrinking cable volume space. With these critical issues in consideration, the resulting solution is a compact, time and money saving cable that helps you get the job done faster and more efficiently.
This fiber optic cable comes in a roller "Type-B" polarity. Rollover polarity is used primarily for connecting to switches and transceivers in 40Gb applications. In a 12-strand rollover polarity, the cable is wired from Pin 1 on one connector end to Pin 12 on the opposite end. Then 2 to 11, and so forth.
On one end, the cable has an MTP brand connector, housing 12 fibers, which breaks out to 12 LC connectors in duplex configuration. Like the MTP brand connector, the LC connector is also known for its space-saving capabilities, and also features a compact design. These two connector styles, together in the same cable, increase density and data throughput.
Using OM1 fiber optics, experience data transfers over a 1Gbps link with a 50/125 micron glass fiber over a distance of up to 300 meters at a wavelength of 850nm, and over a distance of up to 550 meters at 1300nm. For a 10Gbps link, you can transfer data over a distance of up to 33 meters at 850nm.
