The HD8² Cassettes are easily adaptable to incorporate today's latest smaller footprint fiber connectors entering today demanding market.
One of the benefits of the HD8² square cassettes design, is that it can accommodate 33% more LC connectors than traditional wide, flat cassettes.
The HD8² takes advantage of both the Senko's dustproof LC adapter with internal shutter in its cassette design. This 16 Fiber Cassette with two 8 Fiber MTP connectors in the rear is the perfect 40G/100G 8 Fiber patching cassettes. Two ports from the switch can plug directly into the rear and supply 8 LC Ports out to the connecting device weather it is a server bank or top of cabinet solution.
The internal shutter is actuated when you plug the LC patch cable into the adapter. The shutter automatically opens as you insert the LC connector, and closes as you extract it. Due to the special design of the shutter, it will not touch the ferrule end face when you insert a connector, thus preventing end face damage. The internal shutter prevents eye exposure to lasers and provides protection from dust and other contaminants.
